Profacts Survey Inclusive Panels

A while back we supported Claire Godding in her project for inclusive panels with our Diamond Partner Profacts in a survey. The aim of the project is to see no more homogeneous panels on tv, at academic and other events. In 2021 a communication campaign will be launched in that sense and the survey will be part of it. Many of you responded to this survey. Our thanks for this.
Here are some highlights that came out of the survey:

  1. People want to recognise themselves and society
… in the panels, they listen to. This translates in the demand for more balanced panels, not only in terms of gender but also in terms of age and origin. They want to see the world in which they live reflected. Society is diverse and therefore panels should be a familiar, recognizable reflection of it.
  2. A mismatch between the current and the desired composition of panels
Belgians have a clear preference for gender-balanced panels. However, when they are watching panels on tv or listening to them at professional congresses or webinars, they mostly see an overrepresentation of men in those panels. While speakers and organisers are aiming for gender-balanced panels.
  3. Preference for gender-balanced panels is both implicit and explicit
Both via implicit and explicit methods Belgians attribute all suggested benefits to a gender-balanced panel. Moreover, a panel exclusively exciting out of one of both genders is always seen as unrepresentative.
For more information on this please contact Claire Godding.

Women on Track Mentoring Program

These times are not the best to start a new mentoring program. In the meantime, we brought together 6 Women on Track and 6 PWC Directors to work together. The first session took place on 9 December on Personal Branding, with Women on Board member Nicoline Spruijt as speaker and facilitator. The second session is planned on 29 January 2021, with Annika Berglund and Marianne Hamilton, author of ‘Advice to My Dear Daughter’, a book plenty of personal advice for women and men who want to better understand the challenges of each other and work better together

Webinar: Are you ready for the next normal? New Boardroom challenges! (9/11/2020)

In a series of 4 planned webinars under the title: The Purpose-led Organization, New Times are Coming we launched the first session: New Challenges for the Board Room.

The purpose-led organization is gaining purpose. Today more than ever, the purpose of a company is expanding extensively to include all stakeholders, communities that serve the organization and even society at large. To thrive in the next normal, organisations will need to embed purpose into their core. In this webinar, the experts and Chairs shared their insights and views on what a purpose-led organization looks like in their view and what questions need to be raised and discussed in the Boardroom to address this new normal.

Webinar: The Purpose-led Organization Future of Work (18/1/2020 )

The Social Enterprise at work: Paradox as a path forward

How can organizations remain distinctly human in a technology-driven world? This year’s Deloitte Human Capital Trends report calls upon organizations to embrace three attributes—purpose, potential, and perspective—that characterize what it means to fuse people and technology to perform as a social enterprise at work.

Speakers:

  • Piet Vandendriessche, CEO at Deloitte Belgium
  • Liesbeth Van Malderghem, Partner Human Capital at Deloitte Consulting
  • Sylvie Van den Eynde, Chief HR & Corporate Affairs Officer at Brussels Airport Company and Member of the Board of Women on Board

February Webinar: A workshop about a governance dashboard for your board meeting

DiliTrust offers the «DiliTrust Governance» software suite comprising various complementary modules to automate the processes of your legal department as well as your governance bodies in a secure way. Digitalizing your board and committee meetings is quick and easy with the «Board Portal» module of the DiliTrust Governance suite. It has been developed by administrators for administrators in order to increase the efficiency of your board or committee meetings and free you from any paper pack.

We suggest a workshop for sharing best practices in the management of board meetings in times of Covid-19.
The idea is to learn from 2020 experiences to improve practices in 2021 depending on the current status of legislation in relation to hybrid and virtual General Meetings.

We will be sending out an invite for this workshop in January. The places will be limited.

News About Our Members

KPI on board mandates

At every board meeting, we keep the mood of our association, by keeping three numbers: the number of members, the vacancies communicated to the members and the number of corporate partners.

We are happy to share with you that we have since mid-2020 shared 21 vacancies with the members. Many of you make themselves known as candidates to these companies and organisations and eventually we are informed of many fine appointments of members.

If you are informed that there is a vacancy on the board you are serving, please let us know so that we can communicate the call for candidates to the members.

Deloitte Belgium is proud to officially announce its new partnership with Women On Board. Since our first successful gathering in November 2017, we have been exploring ways in which to collaborate even further with this initiative. Deloitte is an equal opportunities firm and this collaboration with WOB reflects our commitment to supporting females in the firm by offering a platform for them to network, discuss shared visions and values while delivering important content.

Through this signature partnership, Deloitte Belgium has established a series of four webinars under the theme:
