Tonuso VZW is looking for two new board members - Application deadline : 30/11/2026
Remote
Tonuso vzw, a centre for youth care supporting around 250 families a year from its locations in Vilvoorde, Asse, Anderlecht, Laken and Jette, is looking for two new Board Members.
Tonuso supports around 250 families a year through its work in Vilvoorde, Asse, Anderlecht, Laken and Jette. Together with around 100 staff members, it builds new opportunities for children, young people and families every day. To deliver on that mission, Tonuso needs not only strong staff, but also committed people behind the scenes who help think through the organisation's future.
Being a director at Tonuso is a voluntary commitment of around seven evening meetings a year. You make part of your time, experience and expertise available to an organisation that works with children, young people and families every day. In return, you get:
● the chance to help give direction to an organisation with social impact;
● engaging conversations with people from different fields;
● new insights and governance experience;
● the opportunity to make a real difference from a different role.
Profile 1 — People, Organisation & Societal Impact
You believe in the strength of children, young people and families, even when their situation is complex. Your background may be in welfare, care or mental health care, in strategic HR and organisational development, or in quality, research and impact measurement. Board experience is welcome but not required; knowledge of Brussels and the Flemish Periphery is a plus.
Profile 2 — Finance, Risk & Sustainability
You combine financial expertise with social engagement, and can name risks clearly without holding back innovation. Your background may be as a financial director, CFO, controller, auditor or company auditor (bedrijfsrevisor), or in budgeting, multi-year planning, risk management and organisational development. Board experience is welcome but not required; knowledge of Brussels and the Flemish Periphery is a plus.
You don't need to decide right away whether you'd like to be a candidate. Tonuso is happy to get acquainted first: they'll tell you more about Tonuso, how it works and its Board, and are just as keen to hear your story, experience and ideas. If you're still unsure whether you fully fit the profile but feel a strong connection to the mission, reach out anyway — they look forward to meeting you.
